This year we celebrate the 10th annoversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities. We now observe new issues arising that no-one could have ever anticipated 10 years ago, which are currently not dealt with by the Convention. Europe's largest ethnic minority, the Roma, has established its own academy of arts and sciences. The academy, founded on 1 September in Belgrade, plans to promote, organize, and disseminate research into Romani culture, language, and history.
