Medicamentalia Vaccines: Syringe that can be used for vaccines

Medicamentalia Vaccines

Welcome to this Special Issue of EuroScientist on: Medicamentalia Vaccines!

These articles have been produced as part of a data journalism initiative brought to you by the Civio Foundation. They cover all aspects of vaccination, starting with a data-based account of the relative successes in vaccination campaigns from governments across the world. It gives a historical perspective of the generations of scientists who have been instrumental in developing vaccines included in the data journalism piece, during the past centuries.

The series also looks at the societal aspect of vaccines, as some refuse to recognise their value. Finally, through internal comparisons, all is revealed about issues of poor availability of vaccines such as the BCG before demonstrating the dramatic gaps in pricing between countries and providers. To complete the series, the last piece looks at how modern vaccines against HPV have the potential to change the lives of millions of women.
