Accessibility at the heart of a study on experience of forced displacement and migration

Refugee groups in the areas where they have resettled in Europe are in constant danger of marginalization or exclusion due to different languages and communication strategies. One way of overcoming these barriers are new IT tools, that increase the media accessibility of refugees to foster social cohesion and mutual understanding.

The new Yellow-Green Italian Government

There is a refreshing new tone both in the Italian Parliament and Government. A rejuvenated politics, with a shot of populism generated a government of Parties bitterly opposing until the very last minute. The new, Yellow-Green Government, known as “Government of change”, is leaded by a coalition between the two Parties “League” and “Five Stars Movement”; they signed a “Government contract” of about 50 pages and 30 points. We do some considerations on the Research strategy proposed in the contract with specific attention to human resources in research. Talents attraction represents a point of concern. Displaced Migrants in Higher Education: Findings from a study on Pathways and Support

In January 2018 the University of Manchester and MCAA launched a survey on the practices and attitudes in higher education institutions with regard to displaced students and academics. The aim of the survey was to identify the best practices to integrate displaced students and academics into higher education institutions. Together with previous work, the current study highlights the need to raise awareness among researchers and institutions about the various existing practices adopted in Europe to integrate displaced students and academics.
