The Marie Curie Alumni Association, in collaboration with EuroScientist, has organised a round table on Wednesday 15th February 2017 at 17h00 CET.
The webinar focuses on how scholars can contribute to alleviating the refugee crisis.
The roundtable is moderated by Dr. Michele Catanzaro (Science Journalist who is also a member of the Editorial Boardat Euroscientist) with the following speakers:
- Allan E. Goodman, president and CEO of the Institute of International Education, an organisation monitoring academic freedom and in providing concrete solutions, headquartered in New York, NY, USA.
- Rose Anderson, Acting director of protection services of Scholars at Risk, an organisation ielping scholars exposed to violation of human and academic rights, headquartered in New York, NY, USA..
- Enno Aufderheide, Secretary General of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Bonn, Germany. He is the promoter of the recently launched Philipp Schwartz Initiative, that will allow up to 20 scientists and scholars who are under threat from political persecution to continue their research at German universities and research institutions
- Renata Suter, head of research at the Kiron Open Higher Education (based in Berlin, Germany, and Istanbul, Turkey) a mixed online-offline system to provide world-class education to displaced students.
